My dear people of Kogi East,
Today, we join millions of Nigerians in commemorating Democracy Day a day that reminds us of the courage, sacrifices, and determination of those who fought to preserve the will of the people and establish democratic governance in our nation.

June 12 represents more than a historic election. It symbolizes the enduring belief that leadership must always flow from the people and remain accountable to them.
Thirty-three years ago, Nigerians stood united in defence of democracy. They voted with hope, conviction, and patriotism. That spirit of courage and collective responsibility must continue to guide us as we work toward building a more just, prosperous, and inclusive society.
As we reflect on the progress of our democracy, we must also recommit ourselves to the principles of transparency, accountability, equity, and service to humanity. Democracy is not sustained by elections alone; it thrives when leaders remain connected to the people and when citizens actively participate in governance.
For us in Kogi East, this moment must inspire a renewed commitment to purposeful representation, youth inclusion, economic empowerment, quality education, infrastructural development, and security for our communities.
I strongly believe that the future of Kogi East can be brighter when leadership is built on integrity, competence, accessibility, and genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
On this important occasion, I encourage every citizen to remain hopeful, law-abiding, and actively engaged in shaping the future of our land. Let us continue to strengthen democracy through unity, participation, and responsible leadership.
May the sacrifices of our democratic heroes never be forgotten, and may Nigeria continue to advance in peace, justice, and progress.
Happy Democracy Day to the good people of Kogi East and all Nigerians.
