ANYIGBA / ANKPA / OFU, Kogi State — May 29, 2026
The Kogi East Senatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman, FNIQS, on Friday, May 29, 2026, continued his wide-ranging consultations across Kogi East with strategic visits to political stakeholders, traditional rulers, community leaders, and influential families as part of efforts to strengthen unity, deepen engagement, and consolidate support ahead of the forthcoming general election.

The consultation tour commenced in Anyigba, where QS Aminu met with Sheikh Ibrahim Jibrin, an Abuja-based real estate developer and the ADC candidate for the Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency seat.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed political cooperation, grassroots mobilization, constituency development, and the need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders committed to advancing the collective interests of Kogi East. QS Aminu emphasized that unity and purposeful leadership remain critical ingredients for sustainable socio-economic development across the senatorial district.
In his remarks, Sheikh Ibrahim Jibrin described the visit as a demonstration of consultative leadership and a shared commitment to the progress of the people. He reaffirmed his readiness to continue working with like-minded leaders in building a more united and development-oriented constituency.
From Anyigba, the delegation proceeded to the palace of the Ejeh of Ankpa, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu II, where the ADC flagbearer paid homage and sought royal blessings.
The revered monarch offered prayers for QS Aminu and expressed optimism that Kogi East would, in the 11th National Assembly, be represented by leaders who are adequately prepared and capable of delivering effective representation from the onset.
According to the royal father, one of the recurring challenges of legislative representation has been the tendency of some elected officials to spend considerable time attending to personal interests before focusing on the needs of their constituents.
The Ejeh of Ankpa noted that QS Aminu appears prepared for the responsibilities of office and urged him to remain committed to service, discipline, accountability, and people-oriented leadership.
While in Ankpa, QS Aminu also paid a courtesy visit to the family of the late Alhaji Ishiaka Alfa, one of the area’s respected political figures. He was warmly received by members of the family, including Alhaji Tijani Ishiaka Alfa, Aminu Alfa, and Alhaji Akpai Alfa.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Hon. Yahaya Farooq commended the visit and prayed for the success of QS Aminu’s aspiration to represent Kogi East in the Senate.
Responding, QS Aminu thanked the family for the warm reception and goodwill, assuring them that inclusive leadership and equitable representation would remain central to his agenda if elected.
The consultation train also stopped at the residence of Hon. Hassan Enape, a respected elder statesman and influential political leader in Kogi State, marking their first formal meeting since QS Aminu emerged as the ADC consensus candidate through affirmation.
Hon. Enape congratulated him on his emergence, describing it as a testament to his competence, credibility, and the growing confidence reposed in him by party members and the people of Kogi East.
QS Aminu expressed appreciation for the elder statesman’s support, counsel, and encouragement before and after the party primary election, while seeking his continued mentorship as preparations for the general election intensify.
The tour later extended to the palace of the Ejeh of Ofu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Akwu Obaje, where the delegation received a warm reception.
The royal father described the visit as timely and commendable, stressing that leaders who maintain close relationships with traditional institutions often benefit from the wisdom, guidance, and cultural values necessary for effective leadership.
He offered prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable development across Kogi East and urged political actors to prioritize the collective interest of the people above personal ambition.
Political observers have described the consultations as a reflection of QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman’s growing grassroots outreach and commitment to inclusive leadership, stakeholder engagement, and institutional respect as he continues to build momentum across the nine local government areas of Kogi East.
