“From Allah we come, and to Him shall we return.”
I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Hon. Idris Aruwa, popularly known as Ejima.
His death is a painful loss to his immediate family, friends, associates, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) family and the entire Igala community.
Ejima was a passionate custodian of Igala history, culture and heritage. Through his writings and intellectual contributions, he devoted himself to documenting and preserving the history and identity of our people. His work in this regard remains an important part of the legacy he leaves behind.
He was also a committed politician and a member of the ADC who recently participated in the party’s primary election to contest for the House of Representatives. His aspiration reflected his desire to serve his people and contribute to their development through public service.
I mourn the passing of a brother, fellow party member and passionate advocate for our history and heritage. His absence will be deeply felt.
At this difficult moment, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, political associates and the entire ADC family. I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannah Firdaus and gives his loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May the contributions of Hon. Idris Aruwa to the preservation of Igala history and heritage continue to be remembered, and may his memory remain a blessing to all who knew him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
